I NEED YOUR INPUT! Vote for your favorite, pretty please! Today there was supposed to be a new episode on #GetPlantyPodcast but I am taking a week slow for two reasons. 1. This Saturday is my daughters 3rd birthday and we have LOTS of prep and people coming over and we are so excited! 2. I am shifting a few things around here and the 1st is the Get Planty Podcast is getting a new name! @growwellpodcast! The content will remain more or less the same. Still lots of houseplant advice and some botanical conversations coming your way! The name change LEDs for more REAL, and HONEST conversations about growth. Have you caught my failures episode? It's episode 015 on the podcast. This name change is one way I am responding to a year of failure and forcing things to work. So I am listening to God's leading and leaning into where I know He wants me to be tight now! More changes like this are coming your way but I am giving myself grace to do it S L O W L Y. Okay. I am hoping to change it before the next episode comes out on Tuesday. There is a LOT of behind the scenes stuff that goes into changing the name.
Here are some rapid fire facts about me. Because I'm a hoot. 1. I am really not a junk food person UNLESS you have those nasty, waxy little chocolate donuts you get at the gas station. Maybe they are hostess brand? I don't remember. And yes, I know they are gross, but what can I say - I love an underdog. 2. My parents divorced when I was young. It was ugly and long and it shaped much of who I am. Looking back I am grateful for how God orchestrated it but MAN I am so glad I am an adult now! 😆 3. I was the editor of my high school yearbook for three years and LOVED every single second! 4. While Brian and I were dating I jumped off a cliff that was 50+ feet high into a freezing cold river below. And then I did it again two more times. I landed funny EVERY time and my body was covered in bruises. But I love me a good free fall 🤣 just add nasty gas station donuts and I am all set 🤣 5. I have two middle names (and so do both of my daughters!) mine are in honor of my grandmothers. Okay. Your turn. Tell me something about yourself! Did you think, "DUSTY! New favorite mug! And a funny story about my dad! So my my parents are HILARIOUS. Like just so freaking funny. I think I get my hilarious-ness from them. Anyways, my dad has this mug. He takes it EVERYWHERE. (I do the same thing. Buuuut, this story is about him). And since he takes it everywhere we call it his Teddy mug. As in teddy *bear* but mug. Get it? We have contemplated making a Facebook fan page for teddy mug to document the Adventures of Teddy Mug! All that to say (big build up for a quick story, but whatever) This mug? It's my Teddy mug. Seriously, this mug made by @pigeon_toe is just perfect. Plus they have several colors and all of them are so, so dreamy! Not paid to say that, I just SUPER love them! They are microwave safe and dishwasher safe too. Though, I don't have the courage to wash it in the dishwasher. Do you have a Teddy mug? Or a collection of mugs you rotate through?
I remember telling him "No" like 4 times. No, we can't date yet BUT will will get married someday. I am pretty sure he thought I was crazy. Yeah, I think I was. But man it was worth it. And here we are. 9 years later with two kids in tow, still married, still so freaking good looking, and so grateful for the journey. Feeling grateful today. Hey!! I'm Dusty Hegge! I'm the owner of Revive Nursery and host of #getplantypodcast. I'm a wife, mother, coffee obsessed, and incredibly passionate about growing well. Houseplants are a tool to remind us of the power, beauty, and lessons found within the growth process. Growing is hard. Like so hard. Even when things were going well it's still and exhausting process to be refined and move forward. And, when approached the right way can be such a beatiful thing! On Get Planty Podcast my goal is to marry the lessons found between the joy of curating a dreamy houseplant collection and the beauty found within learning to appreciate the growth process. Tangibly it looks like deep conversations with amazing people pursuing growth, actionable Houseplant care tips, advice, and fun conversations about the beautiful planty world we live in! Things around here are slowly going to change a bit after reviewing my 2018 (on the podcast!) and talking through my biggest failures and successes. I am learning that failure doesn't need to own me or define me but it DOES mean something needs to change. So I am gonna do just that with little tweaks to how I can encourage you and remind you (and myself) that you are SO WORTH the hard work it takes to grow well. #growwell #letsgrowwell
